Junair Spraybooths team up with Cotswold BMW

Junair Spraybooths recently installed two high-specification 5-series spraybooth units and associated equipment, together with a fully-fitted body repair workshop, undertaken by its sister company, Workshop Solutions, at a brand new, purpose-built BMW PDI site in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
The new 14,000 sq ft state-of-the-art centre represents a substantial investment for the group and Paul Bonner, BMW Cotswold Group Bodyshop manager, said that the new facility would ease congestion at its existing highly commended Cheltenham dealership and bodyshop. “Our Cheltenham site is a well-run operation and our customers enjoy high levels of efficiency and customer service – so much so that last year we made the decision to build a new bodyshop at a site nearby, to cope with the increasing customer demand and to boost our service capabilities.”
“I had to make sure that the suppliers I selected to design, build and equip the bodyshop could deliver and make this new facility equally as good, if not better than Cheltenham - and Junair certainly did that.”
Paul continues, “we were advised by others in our network that Junair is renowned for manufacturing and installing high quality spraybooths. Not only that, the team would project manage the installations from beginning to end and assure the quality that we were looking for.”
The primary criteria in selecting the equipment for the facility was the energy saving technology that Junair’s booths could provide as well as build-quality and performance that meets the rigorous standards that BMW demands. costs, reduced cycle times and an improved working environment for operatives.”
The 5-series booths feature high-specification components including Variable Speed Drives and iSystem touch controls as well as Ultralux lighting - the latest in lighting technology.
Commenting on the performance of the booths so far, Paul said: “Our operatives are impressed with Junair’s QADs™ auxiliary air moving system. The heated airflow of the system moves across the entire spraybooth cabin, enveloping the entire vehicle, including lower panels, ensuring that the recommended temperature is achieved far more quickly, therefore reducing bake times, freeing up booth space and reducing energy costs. As we adapt to our new site and new equipment, we are seeing increasing time-savings across the entire process. In addition, mist clearance times are as much as 50% quicker.”
“The mixing room is a unique feature to our site and the fact that cars can be placed on tracks makes our operatives’ jobs easier and the time element, again, is reduced.”
The Cotswold Group used Junair’s sister company, Workshop Solutions to fit the bodyshop with specialist AUTOP lifting equipment.
Workshop Solutions is the UK’s sole distributor for AUTOP inground and surface mounted lifts. For the Cotswold project, the company supplied and installed two AUTOP Masterlift 2.35 Pv 140-200 for BMW twin-ram, 3.5 tonne capacity in-ground lifts and one AUTOP Profilift 2.40 Saav 230 body repair twin ram, 4 tonne capacity in-ground lift for body repair and repair bench loading purposes and Bentley vehicles.
Paul Bonner concludes: “Junair and Workshop Solutions were two very hands-on teams and we are extremely happy with the finished project. Junair’s attention to detail, industry-leading knowledge and experience coupled with Workshop Solutions’ practical expertise has made this a state-of-the-art bodyshop.”
