Junair QADs Spraybooth Technology Retro-Fit Installation

Even now, 13 years after first inventing and patenting Junair QADs auxiliary air movement systems there are still many retro fit installations going ahead such as the project recently undertaken in the largest independent repair centre in Lincolnshire- Brooklands Auto Body Centre. A recently installed USI Italia spray booth was fitted with Junair QADs to help speed up the drying and curing processes, improving productivity and reducing operating costs. When using Junair QADs savings of up to 40% can be achieved and the overall paint process is around 35% faster.

Junair SprayBooths Supplier Raffle Raises Money for Springhill Hospital

Each year at Christmas Junair Spraybooths receive gifts from their suppliers to thank them for their business. Twelve years ago the staff at Junair decided that instead of dividing the gifts out they would like to put them to good use. After putting their heads together it was decided that the gifts would be raffled off on the last trading day of the year and each year the proceeds would be donated to a local charity. Junair’s Sales Office Manager, Elaine Butler volunteered to organise the event and to add to the fun Elaine and Fiona Bradshaw of Agm Services staff dress up in fancy dress to sell the tickets. To boost the prizes Junair, Agm Services and Workshop Solutions Directors also donate generous gifts. Prizes this year ranged from superb hampers of Champagne, chocolates, christmas cakes and puddings, an IPod docking station and bottles of whiskey, wine and tins and boxes of sweets. In addition each year Marie Edwards, AGM Services Business Operations Manager, arranges a collection from staff who prefer to make monetary donations rather than sending Christmas Cards between each other. The total funds raised from the two ventures this year were £500 and are being donated to Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.

Harlequin Motors approached Junair twelve months ago to find a solution to reduce their soaring energy costs and to speed up their spray booth throughout at the same time.
The 2 Nova Verta booths on the site were using a large amount of gas and electricity. Junair suggested retro-fitting energy efficient air handling plant to the existing spray booths along with their award winning QADs proven to improve booth performance, reliability and energy efficiency. Energy Efficient lighting completed the package.
Once the installation was complete, Harry who monitors energy costs job by job, was astounded by the reduced amount of energy (both gas and electricity) being required to complete a job. Twelve months after the installation energy savings have been calculated and verified as £15,347 and that doesn’t take in to account a 20% price rises in the wholesale cost of gas and electricity, so the actual saving would excede this figure.
“The retro-fitted equipment Junair supplied and installed has been a complete success, the savings have surpassed my expectations.” Harry stated. “Not only did we save more than we bargained for but the conversions were carried out over two week-ends so we had hardly any downtime!”

Junair Spraybooth’s employees in Heywood, Lancashire banded together to raise money for breast cancer awareness for the 10th consecutive year.

Elaine Butler, Sales Office Manager organised the Tickled Pink Campaign which raised £200 for Breast Cancer Care and the Breast Cancer Campaign.

Staff supported the campaign by dressing in pink and making and buying home made cakes and other treats.

Plaxton Bus And Coach Builders Go Retro With Junair QADs

A spray booth oven can be specified with the following airflow characteristics;

Cross draft – wall input and wall extraction
Semi down draught – roof input and rear wall or side wall extraction
Down draught – roof input and under floor extraction either by pit such as Junair EVAC floor or raised base LEVAC type floor.

The spray booth airflow will vary dependant on the product to be painted and the budget available. For car refinishing for example the best airflow is down draught because the mist clearance is excellent and it delivers the fastest curing time, however budget constraints may mean that an end extract spray booth meets a clients needs both operationally and financially.

When choosing a spray booth oven you should make sure that the equipment can meet your needs now and in the future. A spray booth oven is a production tool and the cost of ownership goes way past the headline price of purchase. A cheap spray booth that is unreliable in operation will end up costing significantly more than a better quality booth that is reliable and durable in use.

The basic items to review are;

Performance;- How many jobs per day can the booth cope with, does it have rapid temperature rise, how good is the mist clearance, what curing time can be expected, is the lighting good.
Energy efficiency;- How much will the booth cost to operate, does it have energy saving features.
Quality;- How good is the engineering, will the equipment be reliable, how long will main components last.
After sales support;- where is the nearest engineer if we have a problem, are spare parts readily available, are service and maintenance costs reasonable, who do we talk to if we have a problem.
Price;- the last item to consider is the price. It needs to fit your budget but always look at the cost of ownership as well as the ticket price.
