Junair get it Right First Time at WBC

Everyone at WBC, from the reception staff and painters through to the Managing Director are passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about cars. With years of experience in the repair industry WBC are committed to getting it right first time. So when it came to replacing equipment it was essential that the equipment was chosen with this same ethos in mind.

The equipment that WBC wanted to replace was four spray booth ovens and two independent ovens. This amount of equipment took up a great deal of floor space and of course had a high operating cost.

WBC approached Junair to design a new facility that would utilise the space effectively and keep running costs to a minimum. David Turner, Director at WBC said ‘With the emphasis at WBC on excellent customer service it was essential that the equipment enabled the staff at WBC to maintain the high standards our customers have come to rely on from WBC. We wanted to provide our Technicians with the best equipment available to the market with an added emphasis on reducing the running costs.’

Junair redesigned the facility and supplied two extended length drive through spray booths, each capable of accepting two vehicles or one vehicle plus all the off-car panels/bumper.The Junair spray booths incorporate a fully extracted and fully gridded floor which provides absolutely even, balanced extraction enabling two colours to be painted in the spray booth at any one time with no cross contamination. This system ensures productivity is maximised whilst minimising the unit cost of production.

David Turner added ‘Junair introduced us to the Carbon Trust and provided us with the assistance and evidence of energy saving to enable us to secure a loan of £96,000 towards the purchase of the equipment. When Junair estimated we would save approx £37,000 reducing our current energy bill by almost 40% I was taken aback. In actual fact the reduction in our energy spend for our first year has been £37,843- a fairly impressive prediction from Junair’

David went on to say ‘ The equipment will have paid for itself in 3.75 years and added to that we have reduced our carbon output by 2,520 tonnes per year. The new Junair booths have been a complete success and have also helped our company to achieve approval for new work from the VW and Audi Group. I would have no hesitation in recommending Junair to other Bodyshops.
