Seward reaps rewards of new Junair booths

Accident repair specialist, Seward, is reaping the rewards of introducing four Junair 4-series Spraybooths and QADs™ and energy saving Variable Speed Drives at its sites in Southampton and Havant, just four months after they were installed.

new Junair boothsThe new booths were added to the Seward sites to make way for increased business secured over the last twelve months, and, because of the environmentally sound equipment used in the spraybooths, the business was granted Carbon Trust funding to help finance the projects.

Seward selected leading spraybooth manufacturer, Junair, to supply and install the booths primarily because the 4-Series booth fully embraces the principles of engineering quality and exceptional performance that are synonymous with the Junair brand, and, each booth is designed and manufactured to meet individual customer needs in terms of size and performance. Junair booths and associated equipment are renowned for being one of the most advanced and energy-efficient in the UK, using specialised QADs™ auxiliary air movement systems, high-output lighting, Variable Speed Drives and Fuel Saver products, which ensure the booths are compliant with directives set by current legislation.

Nigel Luffman, Seward’s Regional Director commented: “There really was no other manufacturer that could deliver the complete installation to this standard, with the professionalism and industry knowledge that Junair has.”

Conventional spray booths are often blighted with an inefficiency to effectively raise the lower panels of the vehicle to the required curing temperature, extending baking times and taking up valuable booth time and energy, yet with Junair’s internationally patented QADs™ system, heated airflow is supplied from the corners of the spray booth cabin that envelops the whole vehicle, including the lower panels, ensuring that the recommended temperature is achieved far more quickly and evenly.

Both sites are benefiting from the new water-based paint, compliant with the paint directive that is now in force, as Nigel Luffman has found that drying times are now faster than solvent systems as well as being environmentally sound. Junair worked closely with the paint manufacturer to help to achieve these ‘incredible’ drying times, according to Kevin Dillon Junair’s Technical & Training Manager, “We also provided on-site training, in conjunction with the paint manufacturer after installation – no other booth manufacturer has the technical paint expertise to help achieve these results and our Select Control allows adjustment to temperature curves for each individual product. For clearcoats at Seward’s we are achieving 17 minutes total through curing times with fast hardeners and 20 minutes with slower hardeners. When cool, the panels can be refitted or polished without any problems.”
