How to make your spray booth more energy-efficient

Across automotive, aerospace, industrial and commercial industries, energy-efficiency is becoming a greater priority by the day. With gas and electricity prices rising, the cost-effectiveness of energy-efficient spray booth technology is not to be underestimated – and what if we told you that this comes hand-in-hand with reducing your company’s impact on the environment?

Energy-efficient spray booth technology you need to know about

Whether you’re a local body shop or an international manufacturer, there are a number of different technologies you can implement to make your spray booth more energy-efficient.

LED Lighting

LED lighting is the most energy-efficient and cost-effective spray booth lighting solution around. But how can LED lighting improve the energy-efficiency of your spray booth? It’s really simple.

LED lighting lasts much longer than more traditional spray booth lighting, such as standard fluorescent light sources. Traditional fluorescent tubes also contain lead and mercury, meaning they must be disposed of safely to avoid further harm to the environment. Simply switching to a greener LED lighting alternative could help you save up to 60% in operation costs, with a lifespan of 10-20 years, making it a great first step towards an energy-efficient spray booth.

Fuel Saver Mode

If you’re looking for another simple way to convert your existing spray booth into a more energy-efficient model, Fuel Saver Mode is a great place to start.

Most standard spray booths will heat up external air to meet the required temperature conditions inside the booth. However, with Fuel Saver Mode, your spray booth settings are changed so that the heated air is recirculated during idle and flash off modes, reducing your energy costs by around 22%. Fuel Saver Mode is really simple to implement too, get in touch to get started.

QADs Auxiliary Air Movement System

QADs is our industry-leading, energy-saving technology (developed and patented by Junair Spraybooths) that can be added to many makes and model of spray booth. Our QADs auxiliary air movement system is designed to save you time, money and energy when it comes to paint drying and curing using your spray booth.

QADs work to supply airflow from the corners of your spray booth cabin, offering 35% faster processing times with up to 40% savings on energy costs. When you invest in QADs, you’ll also notice your overall paint process is up to 35% faster while the paint job is of the highest quality expected within the industry.

Variable Airflow Technology

Variable Speed Drives have been around for a while, working to reduce airflow when your booth is inactive. However, most spray booths require a manual operator to implement this technology every time the booth is used.

With our Variable Airflow Technology, the process has been completely automated. Once installed and enabled, the feature will reduce airflow whenever your spray booth is idle or running at a reduced capacity.

For example, airflow can be reduced by 75% when idle for loading, unloading or cleaning purposes, while a 50% reduction can be applied for flash off-base coats and 40% for a bake cycle.

Start saving up to 70% on your energy costs today

Combining these 4 energy-efficient technologies could help you save up to 70% on your total spray booth energy costs.
