Peter Cooper Cars are an independently owned Volkswagen group based along the South Coast. Their fully approved paint and body centre is not only authorised to repair Volkswagen vehicles but Audi, Seat and Skoda as well, meaning the highest standard of repair work is demanded. Peter Cooper had an 18 year old Junair spray booth which has served them well. Having experience of Junair and as quality of finish is key, Peter Cooper group once again turned to Junair for their spraybooths.
Peter Cooper replaced both of their spray booths in 2 phases to ensure the body shop was still able to function whilst the works were completed. The first phase was the installation of a 1 Series spraybooth with a rear chest extraction. The second phase included the installation of a 3 Series fully down draught spraybooth with a LEVAC floor. The LEVAC floor allows a full extracted, balanced floor without the need for excavation, a small 140mm unobtrusive ramp allows the easy loading and unloading of the spraybooth.
Energy Saving Features
Both spraybooths were fitted with key energy saving extras including fuel saver mode, variable speed drives, LED lighting and QADs which when used in combination can save up to 70% of fuel costs making the system self-financing.
Automatic Fuel saver mode automatically changes the air handling plant from full fresh air intake to re-circulation during idle and flash off modes, substantially reducing the air heating costs.
The fully automatic variable speed drive was fitted to reduce the airflow through the cabin when it is being loaded or standing idle leading to a reduction in fuel costs. As the system is fully automatic, operator selection is not required and no human error can occur, so the energy savings are guaranteed. Save more energy with variable speed drives.
Both spray booths are illuminated using an LED lighting system to ensure sustained uniformity of light and colour. Junair LED lighting provides a bright clean, shadow free light that represents natural daylight, ensuring operators have the optimum environment for an accurate colour rendition and a flaw free finish. Junair patented QADs have been installed in both of the booths ensuring that the cure time is significantly reduced, this offers the benefit of being environmentally friendly and energy efficient, saving costs in the process. QADs are an auxiliary drying system moving air from the corners of the booth to agitate the airflow around the component, speeding up the drying time. Find out more on Junair QADs systems.
