The accident repair, servicing and MOT experts H Samson (Bolton) Ltd got in touch with the team at Junair Spraybooths to discuss potential work on upgrading their existing setup.
Suffice to say that we were excited to get started. Here’s how the project happened…
Established for over 70 years, H Samson (Bolton) Ltd are a well-established and longstanding business providing accident repair, servicing and MOT services to customers across the North West.
H Samson were looking to upgrade their existing equipment, it had worked well but was getting old, expensiveto run and maintain and no longer met the demands and changing requirements of the bodyshop. By replacing their existing standard size spray booths (2 of) and separate baking oven with an extended length, drive-through Junair spray booth oven H Samson aimed to maximize floor space and in turn increase the number of jobs completed as well as the benefit of improved quality of finish.
Junair installed an extended length 3 Series Spray Booth; 12m in length which enabled vehicles and/or parts to be sprayed and then baked in the cabin at the same time. At 3.1m high, it accommodates the majority of light commercial vehicles on the road today and by making it ‘drive-through’ improved the workflow of the bodyshop.
The 3 Series is a full downdraught booth and in this project we opted for the LEVAC floor raised 140mm off the building floor, vehicles enter and exit via small ramps, avoiding the need for excavation and costly building works. LED lighting is standard in all of Junair equipment and provides the best form of illumination with low maintenance, and we included QADs auxiliary air movement system to speed up drying times.
The adjacent paint mixing room was also replaced for new with doors positioned at either end which made it easier for operators to enter in the spray booth.
The new spray booth has been running for a few months and is already making a difference.
